- ¾ cup unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cups almonds, finely chopped
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (can substitute almond flour to make gluten-free)
- 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg, beaten to blend
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.In a small saucepan melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat.
In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients except the egg with the melted butter and mix well. Stir in egg. Drop batter by tablespoon onto baking sheet about 3 inches apart (these cookies spread).
Bake until rich golden brown (about 12–15 minutes). Let cool on sheet before transferring to plate.
